Fitness for Living is good clean dirty fun outdoors!  Outdoor fitness is one of the most advanced methods available today to achieve body and mind power and overall fitness, health, and well-being.

According to Tina Vindum, author and a key leader of the Outdoor Fitness movement, “outdoor fitness is based on the belief that nature is a powerful contributor to personal health and fitness.  Why is it so important for us to connect with nature and be outdoors?  Mounting research shows the profound effect that fresh air, plants, trees, and natural outdoor elements have on our health and well-being.  When you spend time outdoors, especially being active, you can lift your mood, think more positively, feel more internal calm, and experience greater harmony with the world around you.”

It begins with the breath.  Your breath is one of the most basic connections to your environment.  Every time you breathe in and out, you receive from and give back to your natural surroundings.  It’s a simple, profound connection – and learning to breathe well is the foundation of HB–FFL.

Physical conditioning is the basis of what brings most people to building stronger, healthier bodies and the core of HB-FFLThe physical components are muscular strength and endurance, cardiovascular conditioning, flexibility, core, and balance.  Two other aspects of the program are kinesthetic and proprioceptive awareness, skills that bridge physical and mental spheres and allow the whole body to function more confidently and efficiently in its environment.
